All buildings are different, so being prepared is very important for you and your families safety. Having an escape plan is as simple as knowing the route to take to safely exit a room in the case of an emergency. It is also important to have multiple escape plans or alternative ways for you, your family and friends to safely exit your home or business in case a fire is blocking an exit.

1.    Install smoke alarms on every level of your home.

2.    Test smoke alarms every month. Change batteries yearly.

3.    Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and to practice it twice a year.

4.    If a fire occurs in your home, get out, stay out and call for help!
