Refrigerator Leak

If you think about water damaging your home, you might conjure up an image of a hurricane, torrential rain or other natural catastrophe. The unfortunate reality is that damage that is caused when ordinary household appliances fail can be just as destructive as an extreme weather event. To prevent damage to your home it is important to stay on top of any and all maintenance around the house. Whether that is cleaning out your gutters or replacing old plumbing around the house, keeping up to date with these things can help prevent possible water damage in your home.

Supply lines are water lines that connect toilets, sinks, washing machines, icemakers and dishwashers to the shut off valves. Oftentimes, supply lines are overlooked when it comes to maintenance and upkeep of a home. However, this is can be a huge mistake for homeowners. When supply lines are not regularly checked and replaced, the possibility for water to damage the home is very likely.

We recently went on a call in Akron Ohio to a home that had a refridgerator line that had a leak. Unfortunately, the leak had been been dripping for several weeks causing damage being the kitchen cabinets and the hard wood floors. We received the call from the homeowner and our production manager, Jesse Lee, was able to assess the water damage and dispatched one of our crew teams to the home to begin the water damage clean up.

When a supply line in your home malfunctions and creates water damage in your home, it is best to call a professional water damage company – like SERVPRO of West Akron– to remediate the damage. We have the experience and proper equipment to make sure that any and all forms of water damage are completely removed from your home. After we show up, it will look as if there was never any water damage in the first place!
