As you prepare this feast it is important to practice safe cooking habits, so your day of joy doesn’t turn into a day of a fire disaster. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), cooking is the main cause of home fires and injuries, with the Thanksgiving holiday being the peak day for cooking-related fire emergencies. Below are a safety tips to enjoy a safe holiday.

  • While cooking, never leave it unattended especially while deep frying, broiling or grilling. If you need to leave your home, you should turn everything off.
